My Lady Series began in Spring of 2021 with a desire to paint what is most enjoyable to me – portraits of ladies faces that exude not just a pleasant smile but sometimes annoyance, sadness, attitude and anger. – Meredith Ender
My name is Meredith Ender. Always sketching and drawing throughout my life, I actually didn’t learn to paint until 2009.
From 2010 to 2020 I would accomplish maybe an average of 5 or 6 paintings a year. One summer I spent time concentrating on ballerinas. Another summer I chose to paint musicians like Bob Dylan, Elvis and Billie Holiday.
It wasn’t until the spring of 2021, during lockdown, that I spent long periods of time painting a large number of paintings. In the course of 6 months I was able to accomplish 30 of what I call “lady paintings”.
Born and raised in the charming city of Louisville, Kentucky, I now happily reside in Cobourg, Ontario with my piano playing husband, sweet 11-year old daughter and spunky little maltipoo.
