Betsy Miller

Originally from Montreal, after working for some time in the banking industry, I decided to pursue my life-long passion for design and colour. Following completion of the Fine Arts Certificate program in 2010 at Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario, I began to explore various painting techniques, specializing in acrylic palette knife art and also including brush work and drip art. Since 2011, I work and sell through my Cobourg home studio.

I do not plan my pieces in advance as I let my mood and instincts direct my colour palette and composition. I have been known to add marks and strokes to pieces as I enjoy the playful side to art. My technique and style continue to evolve in exciting new directions.

Inspiration comes from many expressionist artists, such as Hans Hoffman, Joan Mitchell, Helen Frankenthaler, Jackson Pollack and Lee Krasner to name a few.

Artwork can be viewed and purchased at my home gallery by appointment.

My work has been accepted into many juried gallery shows, and I donate to worthy charities regularly.

My paintings are held in private collections in Canada, London UK., Amsterdam, Boston, New York and Atlanta.
