Susan Groot

Artist’s Statement

“Finding a unique yet personally satisfying creative voice is a lifelong challenge for any artist. There are so many media and styles to explore and so many mentors to learn from along the way.

By drawing patterns in pen and ink or by painting using only black and white or a limited colour palette, I am trying to focus less on perfecting the subject of my art and more on understanding the process I used to create it. Learning to trust that process and enjoying the journey have become my priorities.”
