Ever since I was a young girl in pulblic school I had two wishes. One, that some day I would be able to fly a plane and the other, that I would be able to paint pictures of the beautiful things around me. Well about 1965 I started playing with paints and brushes, actually at the suggestion of my Doctor at the time. At the time things were rather rough for me and he thought it might be good therapy. Well he was sure right about the therapy and I got quite surprised how they turned out after awhile. They didn't seem too bad and one of my paintings was chosen to tour northern Ontario and Quebec in an exhibit.
This did it. I was off and running! I painted off and on until the present and counting. It really is so relaxing and puts me in another world. I love it!
This year will be the 5th for me exhibiting in the Cobourg Waterfront Festival and also the Brighton Apple Festival in the Fall. Not too bad for an old great-grandma turning 81 next month eh? I do other smaller ones in between and had so many invites to be in others last summer but couldn't manage it because of my granddaughter having a big wedding in August. I have exhibited at the Journey of the Arts Gallery last year as well.

DON'T SAY YOU COULD NEVER BE ABLE TO PAINT
JUST TRY IT AND MAYBE YOU WILL BE PLEASANTLY SURPRISED.
p.s. - Oh yes, I received my Commercial Pilot's License around the same time as I started to paint.
